The Sheriff's published request process accepts mail and walk-in requests at the Gearhart Road address and does not accept fax requests. No dedicated jail-release fee or response time is published, so ask before sending payment.

Courts hold the orders that explain why custody changed. Common Pleas handles felony and serious criminal matters, while Sidney Municipal handles adult misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases throughout Shelby County.

  • For local community control or state parole, use Post-Release Supervision. Shelby Adult Probation is at 100 E. Court Street, phone 937-498-7231, open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
